Website Design and Development Process Christchurch New Zealand

The Website Process - We make the complex easy

Phase 1: Project planning

The first phase is crucial to the success of the project and is often overlooked. Good planning means there is a clear path from start to completion. Together we create a plan that ensures everybody involved is on the same page and the project will be completed on time and on budget while meeting its objectives.

Phase 2: Gathering of materials

The second phase is where you start gathering all necessary materials for your website. We require these materials to be delivered to us before we move on to the next phase.

Phase 3: Designing the website concept

The third phase is where we design your website by creating your sites look and feel. We ensure the web design is consistent with your current branding and is targeted to your target audience.

One of our web designers may contact you to discuss your design or the details you have provided in your creative brainstorm (outlined in phase 2 above).

We require written sign-off of the web design concept before we progress to the next phase. Changes to the design after development has begun can incur additional cost and time. Once you have formally approved the design concept we can move on to the next phase and you will have a visual understanding of what your site will look like.

Phase 4: Developing the website system

The fourth phase is where we create an interactive and commercially effective website based on the approved design concept, specifications and objectives. All content will be inserted into the website and once this phase is approved the website is almost complete.

Phase 5: Website testing

The fifth phase is all about testing, testing and more testing. We test the website thoroughly from our end to ensure all is working correctly, but as a part of our process we give you the opportunity to get involved with the final testing. This allows you to get a final look and feel of the site before the public do and also gives us the ability to make any minor modifications required before the launch.

Phase 6: Website launch

The sixth phase means that the website has been approved by you and is ready to be launched to the public. We will make your website ‘live’ and visible to the internet public and undergo any final testing just to ensure all is working as it should be.

Phase 7: Website marketing

The seventh step is by no means the least important step, if anything it is one of the most important. There is no point having the greatest website in the world if no one ever visits it, in fact you would have wasted your investment in having one designed and developed if you did not intend to market it.

As it turns out we are skilled web marketers as well which makes your life that much easier. Our systems are search engine friendly anyway, but you can always do more if you want to achieve top rankings and that’s where we can help. More and more people are turning to search engines as a starting point when surfing online, so it makes sense to give your website a helping hand so it can achieve high search engine rankings.

It doesn’t stop at search engine rankings though and we will take the time to ensure you are aware of your web marketing options and provide advice on what options we feel are required to get the most leverage out of your website.

Phase 8: Maintenance and Measuring

The eighth phase means we have come a long way together, your site is live and people are visiting it and you are seeing the results. But just because we are seeing success does not mean the job stops there, not at all. It is now that you need to keep improving to stay ahead of your competitors and achieve further online success.

You can do this by keeping your websites content fresh and relevant to your target audience and ensuring that your website is up-to-date with your industry trends. This also gives you a chance to ensure your sites pages are more appealing to search engines.

Further to this, you need to measure everything that happens on your website so you know what is working well and what needs improving. That is the key to maintaining a commercially effective site, always look to improve where you can so you are leveraging as much as you can from your website. Don’t just collect analytics, actually do something with them!
